Proform 725 FP Treadmill

This Proform 725 FP treadmill review offers an unbiased review of this low cost treadmill. Keep reading to see how the 725 FP compares with other treadmills in areas such as treadmill parts, iFit compatibility, price, quality, warranties, treadmill repairs, and more.

The Proform 725 treadmill is a basic, entry level treadmill that come with basic features at a Profom price. You get what you pay for with this treadmill and in some cases this is a good thing (e.g., Proform name) and in other cases not (e.g., poor quality parts). Regardless, the 725 can give you a good workout every time you use it and this and its price alone may make it a good option for you.

The 725 FP comes with all of the essential bells and whistles to give you a good workout and help you stay in shape, such as a smooth tread belt and a heart rate monitor. This treadmill is capable of a speed of up to 10 miles per hour. The machine can be controlled from the easy to use console. The console functions will allow you to tweak speed while the treadmill is in use, giving you control over your workouts. The console layout is relatively simple, easy to use, and displays all of the information pertinent to your workout and allows you to choose from a number of preloaded workout programs.

The 725 also features an incline adjustment that can be manually modified from the console or will be automatically adjusted by a workout program of your choice. The 725 FP also comes with iFit compatibility. IFit workouts come preloaded with the treadmill and you can purchase additional workouts by either download or on CD. These workouts can then be added to your treadmill to ensure that you are always getting a varied workout program so your progress doesn’t plateau.

As with all home fitness equipment, if you aren’t going to use it regularly then is probably isn’t worth whatever you paid for it. The Proform 725 is one of the most affordable treadmills on the market and is a great entry level machine for that reason. If you are new to treadmills or even walking or running for exercise, the 725 is a nice place to start. You get many of the benefits of a more expensive treadmill with the 725 at a much lower price. As previously mentioned, however, you do get what you pay for and the 725 does have some reliability issues and most likely won’t hold up to the regular use of a more seasoned runner. This said, the Proform 725 does come from the reputable Proform brand and as such any repairs or replacement parts should be relatively easy to arrange or procure. A similar low-priced treadmill purchased from a less well known manufacturer would create more headaches for you down the line as repairs and/or replacement parts might be more difficult to come by. There is also some question of stability regarding the fold up mechanism of this model. The 725 FP folds up to save space, but some stability may be sacrificed for this feature. You should ask yourself if having a treadmill that folds up is really something you need and if so, then this might be a good machine for you. If not, you won’t have to sacrifice stability for space and should consider other treadmills.

Overall, the Proform 725 FP is a good quality treadmill backed up by the Proform brand name. This treadmill offers the great majority of features that most people are looking for when shopping for home fitness equipment.

Recommended: No, unless you really need the fold-up feature.
