Proform 625 Treadmill The Proform 625 treadmill review here will give you product details. Proform treadmills are good fitness equipment, but is the Proform 625 right for you? Find out here in the Proform 625 treadmill review. • Model Number: PFTL6251 Those looking for more bang for their buck often consider the Proform 625 treadmill. The Proform 625 offers many features of higher-end machines at a much lower price, though as with all things you get what you pay for. The 625 features a strong 2.5 horse-power motor designed specifically for treadmills. This motor power should be sufficient for those that plan for moderate home use of their machine. The maximum speed for the Proform 625 is 10 miles per hour, which also should be sufficient for moderate home use. In spite of these pros, the Proform 625 has a reputation for being a relatively noisy machine, so keep that in mind before you purchase. The 625 does fold up, however, which is a great and useful option if you need to save space. One of the best features of the Proform 625 is its easy to use and functional console. From the console, you can easily track and monitor your workouts. The console provides instant feedback reporting speed, time, distance, calories fat calories, and heart-rate information. All of this you should expect from a modern treadmill and the Proform 625 doesn’t offer much beyond these now standard features. However the 625 does have two extra features, the Quarter-mile Track Indicator and Proform patented Quick Speed Technology. The Quarter-mile Track Indicator is an interactive feature that allows the user to gage his or her pace as if they were walking or running on a regulation size track. This is a handy and an interesting monitoring tool, though it isn’t something you’d miss if you didn’t have it. Proform’s Quick Speed Technology, however, is a much more useful feature. This feature allows the treadmill user to adjust their speed without having to go up or down in 1/10th of a mile intervals, rather the speed will increase at preset speed intervals. This feature makes for very smooth and easy transitions during your workout. Despite all of these great assets, the Proform 625 unfortunately has another big drawback: the heart rate monitor is known to be unreliable. Furthermore, the running deck on the 625 is not nearly as sturdy as the decks on more expensive machines. The deck also doesn’t have the amount of shock reduction and cushioning that many other machines offer. The Proform 625 also doesn’t have features of many similarly priced machines, like iFit workouts and an extended warranty. Recommend: No. Bottom line, you can get a much better machine for your money. If you’re willing to overlook the noise and heart rate monitor deficiencies, you still have the lack of shock absorption to deal with. If you only plan to walk on a treadmill one or two days a week, these might be drawbacks you can easily handle. We don’t recommend sacrificing on something like shock absorption, however, if it will be a machine that you will use more often. The Proform 625 is a decent machine if you will use it infrequently, need to save space, but for most people there are much better options. Related Article: NordicTrack EXP 2000 >> |
